David's 20 year career to end

David Beckham has announced he is to retire from football at the end of the season.

"I'm thankful to PSG for giving me the opportunity to continue but I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the highest level," he said.

PSG have two more games before the end of the season, at home against Brest on Saturday and away to Lorient on 26 May.

Some of hia beat moments include winning the Chanpionship in the UK, Spain, USA and France as well as memorable goals at club and country level.

David pays tribute to Sir Alex Ferguson

Today, Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed he will retire as manager of Manchester United at the end of the season. As the man who picked David to play his first senior match and nurtured him throughout the early years of his career, David posted a special tribute to Sir Alex on his Facebook page. Read the full tribute below.

I've just seen the news on Sir Alex. As I have said many times before the boss wasn't just the greatest and best manager I ever played under he was also a father figure to me from the moment I arrived at the club at the age of 11 until the day I left.

Without him I would never have achieved what I have done in my career. He understood how important it was to play for your country and he knew how much it meant to me.

After '98 without the manager I would have found it virtually impossible to cope with the attention I was getting on and off the field and for this I will always be grateful to him for his support and protection.

I am truly honoured to have been guided by the greatest manager in football and to have had the career that I had under him.

David made his debut for Paris Saint Germain today in thier 2-0 win againat rivals Marseille. He came on in the 76th minute and contributed to the second goal late on in the 2nd half.

David joins Paris St Germain!

It was announced today that David will play his football in Paris until the end of the season!

The 5 month deal was completed today and David also revealed he will play for free with his salary being donated to a Parisian kids charity. What a great guy!
